I've had the Wii almost since launch. I love the diversity of games on it and the amazing first-party games that Nintendo put out on it. I've noticed, though, that if you go to anywhere that sells Wii games, a good percentage of the games on the shelves for the Wii are absolute crap. I have a theory as to why that is. The Wii's graphics are the problem. All of this cheap shovelware we get on the Wii has to do of the lack of graphical power that the Wii has. These barely known developers make this junk on the Wii because it's cheap for them to make AND they known mom and pop are dumb enough to buy it because they simply don't bother to go online and do their research. So I just admitted that it's not just the graphics, but if the Wii did have HD graphics then it would attract a lot better high quality developers. This shovelware that comes out has to do with the cheap price to make the game because of the lack of graphical power on the Wii and, not to mention, the misinformed casual "gamers" that are actually wasting their money on these terrible excuses for games.
So, in short, the Wii's lack of graphical power has to do with all this shovelware coming out on the Wii.
Do you guys think the same? Or do you think it's just the laziness of the developers themselves?
The real problem is that most of the developers are not taking full advantage of the graphics and really only focusing on the gameplay along with the use of the Wii motes. While this isn't bad it is a wrong direction of game design. All aspects of games should receive attention graphics being one of the more "wanted" area in some games.
Either way developers can easily make their games look great by simply finding a style and using that to their advantage.
